InnovateUkraine: Innovation Energy Project Competition

The United Kingdom continues to support innovative energy solutions for Ukraine. The second round of the InnovateUkraine competition is underway, aiming to strengthen cooperation between British, Ukrainian, and international companies and research institutions. As part of this initiative, the UK is investing £17 million in the development of innovative energy solutions for Ukraine.

Who Can Apply?

The competition is open to:

  • Businesses of any size
  • Academic institutions
  • Research institutions
  • Charitable nonprofit non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
  • Scientific and technical organizations

Key Benefits

  • Project funding ranging from £50,000 to £2 million
  • Opportunity for international collaboration and access to cutting-edge technologies
  • Contribution to Ukraine’s recovery and development of low-carbon energy solutions

Priority Areas

Projects submitted for the competition should align with one or more of the following areas:

  • Smart green grids
  • Renewable generation
  • Renewable heat
  • Green fuels
  • Low-carbon buildings
  • Repurposing existing infrastructure
  • Industrial decarbonization

Project implementation must not exceed 24 months. Applicants must include at least one partner with a legal entity in Ukraine and administrative leadership registered in the UK.
