Program Description:
Grant for Eco-Friendly Packaging. Under the Horizon Europe Programme, a new call has been launched: “Circular design of fiber-based packaging with enhanced functionalities.” The aim is to support innovative projects that develop and implement sustainable packaging solutions aligned with circular economy principles. These solutions should minimize environmental impact while improving performance and efficiency.

Who is it for:
The call is open to consortia comprising at least three legal entities from three different EU member states or associated countries. Eligible participants include SMEs, large enterprises, research institutions, and other organizations involved in packaging, biotechnology, materials science, and related sectors.

Key Priorities:

• Development of innovative fiber-based packaging materials with enhanced properties

• Implementation of circular economy principles across the packaging lifecycle

• Optimization of manufacturing processes for resource efficiency

• Life cycle assessment of new packaging to measure environmental impact at every stage

Applicants must submit a full proposal via the official EU Funding & Tenders Portal. Participation as a consortium is mandatory, in accordance with program rules.
