Grant for Communities: “Preparing Ukraine for EU Membership”

The International Renaissance Foundation has announced a new call for proposals aimed at supporting civil society initiatives that facilitate Ukraine’s accession to the European Union at the community level. The grant for communities focuses on strengthening the capacity of local actors to engage in strategic development, EU standards implementation, and participation in EU programmes.

About the Programme

The goal of the call is to assist territorial communities in preparing for future EU membership. Projects should contribute to raising public awareness, developing local strategies aligned with EU practices, and supporting municipal governance in applying European policies and tools.

Who Can Apply

The competition is open to:

  • Civil society organizations

  • Associations

  • Charitable foundations

Applicants must demonstrate at least two years of relevant experience in fields related to the competition priorities, including local development, EU integration, advocacy, participatory governance, or strategic planning.

Each project must cover activities in a minimum of 3–5 territorial communities, exclusively within areas controlled by Ukrainian authorities.
