Organizations from Ukraine and other Widening countries can now apply for the widerAdvance Facility call within Horizon Europe’s Widening participation and strengthening the European Research Area (WIDERA) component. This opportunity not only allows them to turn research outcomes into practical solutions but also helps strengthen institutional capacity in research management and administration.
About the program
The call aims to support organizations that seek to transform research results into applied innovations. In addition, it encourages institutions to improve their intellectual property strategies and to build long-term organizational potential. As a result, participants will be better prepared to integrate into the European Research Area.
Who can apply
Eligible applicants include organizations from Widening countries, including Ukraine. Moreover, evaluators will prioritize proposals that demonstrate significant Key Exploitable Results (KER). These should focus on areas such as:
– Health
– Culture, creativity, and inclusive society
– Civil security
– Digital technologies, industry, and space
– Climate, energy, and mobility
– Food, bioeconomy, and natural resources
– Agriculture and environment
What is funded
The program provides funding for projects that strengthen intellectual property management, enhance research administration, and develop sustainable models of collaboration. Consequently, Ukrainian institutions gain a valuable chance to expand their role within the European research community.

Deadlines and budget
The total budget for the call amounts to €5 million. Importantly, there are two main deadlines:
– October 31, 2025
– January 31, 2026
