Scientific Collaboration Contest
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany has announced the significant “Funding Contest for German-Ukrainian Scientific Research Collaboration for Sustainable Recovery.” This initiative aims to support research collaboration between Germany and Ukraine, preserving Ukraine’s scientific potential and aiding Ukrainian researchers during a challenging recovery period.
What the Contest Entails
The contest opens opportunities for cooperation between German and Ukrainian scientific institutions. Participants will jointly work on pressing topics of mutual interest.
Main Focus Areas for Projects
Energy. Research on renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and creating sustainable energy systems.
Healthcare. Development of innovative medical technologies, new diagnostic and treatment methods, and digital solutions for healthcare.
Agriculture. Optimization of agricultural production, research into sustainable farming methods, and adaptation to climate change.
Transport. Implementation of eco-friendly transportation solutions, development of sustainable mobility, and improvement of logistics.
Information, Production, and Biotechnology. Research in artificial intelligence, production automation, and innovations in biotechnology.
New Materials Research. Creation of eco-friendly, high-strength, and multipurpose materials for various industries.
Humanities, Social, and Economic Sciences. Topics may include reforms in politics, law, or economics, as well as the analysis of social changes and processes.
Green Transition and Environmental Protection. Climate change adaptation, natural resource conservation, and the introduction of sustainable practices across various fields.
Participation Requirements
- Each project must include at least one partner organization from Ukraine.
- A portion of the funding must be transferred from the German side to the Ukrainian institution.
- Special emphasis will be placed on involving young scientists.
Who Can Participate
This scientific collaboration contest is aimed at representatives of the research sector who have ideas for interdisciplinary and innovative projects.
Budget
Up to €300,000 per project.
