Introduction
The European Union offers funding opportunities for SMEs, startups, and organizations to implement innovative cross-sectoral projects aimed at soil conservation and restoration. Moreover, SoilTribes Open Call actively combines science, art, and community engagement to tackle urgent environmental challenges.
Objective of the Call
The funding aims to:
- improve soil literacy,
- engage communities in ecological initiatives,
- implement creative solutions for soil protection and restoration,
- test new approaches and scale up proven practices.
In addition, the program seeks to connect different sectors and encourage long-term cooperation.
Eligibility
Legal entities registered in EU member states and Horizon Europe–associated countries can apply. These include:
- cultural and creative industry organizations,
- non-profit organizations,
- public authorities,
- international and non-governmental organizations,
- universities and educational institutions,
- think tanks and research institutions,
- startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Furthermore, interdisciplinarity is mandatory: at least one project partner or leader must belong to the cultural and creative industries.
What Will Be Funded
The program supports:
- innovative approaches that combine science, art, and community involvement,
- cross-sectoral projects with a strong focus on creativity,
- both pilot initiatives and the scaling of successful solutions.
Therefore, applicants have the chance to both experiment and expand their proven models.
Funding Conditions
Applicants may receive:
- €25,000 for 6 months,
- €50,000 for 9 months,
- €100,000 for 12 months.
The evaluation process consists of two stages: first a video and abstract, and then a full project description.
