Craft cheese, handmade ceramics, a small bakery, a woodworking shop, a local clothing brand. Small producers in Ukraine usually run on their own working capital, and they rarely reach cheap credit. A grant closes that gap: the state or a donor gives non-repayable money for equipment, raw materials, or launch costs, so you keep the funds and grow.
This article gathers programs that a Ukrainian craft producer or small business can apply to right now. Most state eRobota grants accept applications on an ongoing basis, so you can start any time. Below you will find the funding logic, specific amounts, eligibility, and practical tips that lower your risk of rejection.

FundingHub by GetGrant lists 100+ active programs for SMEs, makers, and founders. AI matching by profile and sector, instead of hours of manual portal search.
How does grant funding work for a small or craft producer?
A grant funds a specific goal: equipment, raw materials, rent, marketing, or new jobs. The money is non-repayable, yet it comes with conditions. The state expects the business to run for at least 3 years, hire the workers you declared, and pay taxes. Donors, in turn, look at social impact and sustainable growth.
For a craft producer, the logic splits into three levels by business size. At launch or for a small sole trader, the “Vlasna Sprava” microgrants fit best, ranging from UAH 100K to 500K. Once a producer has a workshop and wants to scale processing, the “Novyi Riven” program offers up to UAH 8M. Agrarian tracks, such as orchards and greenhouses, cover a separate niche for makers who grow raw materials themselves.
Grants above UAH 500K almost always run on 70/30 co-financing: the state covers 70% of the project cost, and the entrepreneur adds 30% of their own. Plan this into your numbers early, because without a confirmed own share the application will not pass.
How much does the base “Vlasna Sprava” grant give?
“Vlasna Sprava” gives from UAH 100K to 350K to start or grow a small or craft business. The amount depends on the number of jobs: UAH 100K with no hires, UAH 200K for one job, UAH 350K for two. You apply online through the Diia portal together with a business plan. Each applicant receives the grant once.
Vlasna Sprava – base microgrant
Grant amounts
up to UAH 100K (no jobs); up to UAH 200K (1 job); up to UAH 350K (2 jobs)
Who can apply
Individuals (future sole traders), active sole traders, small companies (LLC, private enterprise)
Deadline
Applications accepted on an ongoing basis (in waves)
For frontline regions (Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv), the limits go higher: up to UAH 300K for one job and up to UAH 500K for two. Young people aged 18 to 25 apply through a separate track for up to UAH 200K with no mandatory hires, and after they spend the money successfully, they can file another application on general terms.
What do craft producers get in the creative industries track?
The creative industries track of “Vlasna Sprava” gives up to UAH 1M with 70% of the project cost covered. It includes artistic craft producers, design, photography, game development, media, advertising, and PR. For a maker who works with a handmade or author product, this is the largest state grant from launch.
Vlasna Sprava – creative industries
Grant amounts
up to UAH 100K (sole trader registration, no jobs); up to UAH 200K (1 job); up to UAH 500K (2 jobs); up to UAH 1M (4 jobs). The grant covers 70% of the project cost
Who can apply
Sole traders and legal entities in design, crafts, media, gaming, advertising, and similar fields
Deadline
Applications accepted on an ongoing basis (in waves)
The co-financing condition matters here: to get the full million, the entrepreneur adds 30% of the project cost and creates 4 jobs. If you do not yet have an own share, a more realistic path starts at a lower tier of UAH 100K or 200K, so you can grow step by step.
When does the “Novyi Riven” processing grant fit?
“Novyi Riven” gives up to UAH 8M to expand processing, or up to UAH 16M to restore capacity damaged by the war. It suits a maker who has grown from a workshop into a plant: food, woodworking, textile, or furniture processing. The money goes only to equipment and production lines, so you cannot pay rent or marketing from it.
Novyi Riven – processing industry
Grant amounts
up to UAH 8M (create at least 5 jobs); up to UAH 16M (restore assets damaged by armed aggression)
What you can spend on
Equipment, production lines, and development of new products
Deadline
Applications accepted on an ongoing basis (in waves)
What agrarian grants exist for food craft producers?
If a craft producer grows raw materials in-house, two agrarian eRobota tracks apply. “Svii Sad” gives UAH 140K to 400K per hectare (up to UAH 10M total) to plant an orchard, berry field, or vineyard of 1 to 25 hectares. “Svoia Teplytsia” covers building a greenhouse of 0.4 to 2.4 hectares with up to UAH 7M.
Both programs require 30% co-financing and land you own or lease for at least 7 years. One caveat: in 2025, funds for orchards and greenhouses sometimes ran out before the intake closed, and the program paused for a while. So check the current status on the Diia portal before you apply.
Comparison of state eRobota grants

|---|---|---|
| Vlasna Sprava (base) | UAH 350K | 2 jobs |

| Vlasna Sprava (youth) | UAH 200K | Ages 18-25, no mandatory jobs |

| Novyi Riven (processing) | UAH 16M | War-damage restoration / from 5 jobs |
| Svii Sad | UAH 10M | Plot 1-25 ha, 30% co-financing |

Which private and international programs are open now?
Beyond the state, donors and private funds support makers too. Here the deadlines shift, so always confirm the status on the organizer’s site before you apply.
CraftUP Ukraine. An education and grant project by AgroPortal.ua with support from the government of the Netherlands, aimed at craft food producers. Participants (registered and unregistered producers with a team of up to 5) go through training, and finalists get their equipment or services paid for. The project runs through 2026, so watch for the next intakes.
House of Europe and Creative Europe. EU programs for culture and the creative industries. They fit makers whose product has an artistic side: design, author ceramics, textiles, illustration. Here grants go toward projects, collaborations, and brand growth rather than raw material purchases. House of Europe opens new calls regularly through the year.
“Roby Svoie” by the MHP – Hromadi foundation. A program for entrepreneurs from small towns and villages. The format targets local business ideas that create jobs in the community. Intakes open periodically, with a limited number of winners.
How do you improve your chances of approval?
The main reason for rejection under state grants is a weak or unrealistic business plan. The operating bank scores exactly that quality, and the employment center adds points at the interview. A strong application rests on a few things.
- specific numbers in the plan: unit cost, price, break-even point, instead of vague statements
- realistic jobs that you can truly keep for 3 years, since failing to do so means returning the money
- a confirmed own share if the grant exceeds UAH 500K and runs on 70/30 co-financing
- a clean document set: passport, tax ID, business plan, and certificates with no gaps, because an incomplete package gets rejected right away
- an adequate credit history, since the authorized bank checks the applicant’s business reputation
One more practical tip: apply early, not on the last day of a wave. The agrarian tracks showed that funding can run out before the formal deadline. So the sooner you submit a strong application, the higher your chance of landing in the current budget.
