YEP Accelerator has opened the second cohort of the Beyond the Thesis programme for Ukrainian deeptech teams. The call targets teams with a technology readiness level of TRL 5 and above. The programme supports teams that already have a validated technology. At the same time, it helps them build a clear business framework, develop a commercialisation strategy and connect with investors.
The initiative focuses on transforming research-driven and technology-heavy projects into scalable ventures. In particular, it supports teams in structuring their business models. Moreover, it helps refine value propositions and prepare for market entry. As a result, participants strengthen both their technological and entrepreneurial capacity.
Programme format and content
The programme runs as a two-month intensive in February and March 2026. During this period, selected teams work closely with mentors and industry experts. As a result, they receive structured guidance throughout the process. In addition, teams develop a coherent commercial strategy. They also translate their technology into an investor-ready proposition.
The programme includes business structuring and commercialisation strategy development. Furthermore, teams prepare a pitch deck and a business plan. They also take part in pitching sessions in front of investor-mentors. In addition, some teams will gain the opportunity to attend the Imagine Next Summit in California, USA.
Only five teams will be selected for this cohort. However, participation may not end with the initial phase. Part of the cohort can advance to an additional three-month mentoring stage. This next phase offers personalised development plans. Moreover, it provides sector-specific matchmaking to accelerate growth.
Who the programme is for
The programme targets Ukrainian deeptech teams that have moved beyond the early research stage. These teams are ready to build a sustainable business around their technology. Typically, participants work in advanced engineering, artificial intelligence, hardware, biotechnology or clean technologies. Nevertheless, teams from other science-based fields may also apply, provided they meet the TRL 5+ requirement.
Application deadline
The deadline for submitting applications is 16 January 2026. Therefore, interested teams are encouraged to prepare their materials in advance.
