Notably, Ukraine is a Horizon Europe Associated Country, which means Ukrainian organisations may participate on equal terms with EU entities.

GCIP Ukraine 2.0 is the second phase of the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme led by UNIDO and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented in Ukraine by the NGO Greencubator. Consequently, the programme offers a free 3-month acceleration for cleantech startups and SMEs: expert-led business training, personalised mentoring, market entry support, and grants of up to $20,000 for the most successful teams. Moreover, since 2014 GCIP has supported over 1,650 companies across 17 countries.

✓  Startups and SMEs with innovative solutions in renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste recycling, eco-construction, or sustainable transport
✓  At least one co-founder must be a Ukrainian citizen; a finished product and first customers are required

The Ray of Hope Accelerator by the Biomimicry Institute is a global 6-month programme supporting startups that develop solutions inspired by nature (biomimicry). Additionally, it includes topics such as bio-inspired materials, renewable energy and circular manufacturing. Ten selected teams each receive $15,000 in non-dilutive funding, over $50,000 worth of advisory services, an immersive Nature Retreat in the United States, and access to a global investor network. Importantly, the programme is open to startups from any country.

Urban Future Prize: Grant up to $50,000 for ClimateTech and Ecology Startups

The Urban Future Prize Competition is an annual initiative by the Urban Future Lab (NYU Tandon School of Engineering). In 2026 it introduces two distinct tracks for the first time: the Climate Mitigation Prize and the Climate Adaptation Prize. As a result, two winners — one per track — each receive a $50,000 cash prize and admission to the ACRE Incubator, New York’s longest-running climatech programme. Additionally, runner-up teams in each track receive $10,000 prizes.

✓   Winners are expected to maintain at least one full-time employee and one desk at an incubator in New York City
💡 This is the 10th consecutive year of the Urban Future Prize. The programme culminates with the Urban Future Summit on 22 October 2026 in New York City, featuring finalist pitches and jury panels including investors from Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy and Fifth Wall.
