PAC NYC & Civis Foundation
The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC), together with the Civis Foundation, has launched an open call for The Democracy Cycle. Specifically, the programme funds the creation of new works in the performing arts. These works must explore the challenges, principles, and possibilities of democracy through live performance.
Who Can Apply for PAC NYC?
The programme is open to individual artists and creative ensembles. In particular, it welcomes applicants working in:
- Theatre;
- Dance;
- Music;
- Opera;
- Multidisciplinary performance.
Additionally, all applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Have a minimum of 2 completed projects in their portfolio.
Thematic Focus
The programme primarily focuses on how democracy is practised in the United States. However, projects may also draw on international experiences and other democracies. This broader perspective helps deepen understanding of the theme.
Crucially, all supported works must be designed for live performance. As a result, the premiere must take place no earlier than 1 May 2027.
Funding Amount
The organisers will select at least 8 projects. Each winner will consequently receive $60,000 USD. The funds are directed towards the creation of the new work.
How to Apply for PAC NYC ?
To apply, submit your proposal via the official programme page on the PAC NYC website. Before submitting, carefully review the full eligibility criteria and portfolio requirements.
Furthermore, note that the deadline is firm. Incomplete or late submissions will not be reviewed.
