The Representative Office of the Ukrainian Institute in Germany has launched the NUMO 2025 program — an initiative that supports Ukrainian artists, researchers, and cultural professionals to participate in key international events across Germany. The program aims to strengthen Ukraine’s presence on the European cultural map and foster long-term cooperation between Ukrainian and German cultural institutions.
About the Program
NUMO provides financial support for participation in international festivals, exhibitions, conferences, residencies, and other cultural events of strategic importance. The goal is to expand the visibility of Ukrainian culture abroad and promote professional mobility within the European creative community.
Who Can Apply
The program is open to Ukrainian:
- artists working in all disciplines (film, music, theatre, literature, visual arts, etc.);
- researchers and scholars in the fields of history, cultural studies, sociology, political science, and Ukrainian studies;
- cultural managers and representatives of cultural NGOs.
Both individual and group applications (up to 5 participants per group) are accepted.
Funding
The amount of support depends on the duration of stay:
- 1–2 days — up to €500;
- 3–4 days — up to €700;
- 5–10 days — up to €1,000;
- residencies of one month or longer — €1,500.
Participants with special needs may receive an additional €500 to cover mobility-related expenses. Please note that the program covers financial support only; all travel, accommodation, and logistics are the participant’s responsibility.
Eligible Activities
NUMO supports participation in internationally recognized events held exclusively in Germany, including:
- international festivals (film, theatre, music, literature, etc.);
- art exhibitions and biennials in contemporary art, architecture, and design;
- professional conferences and symposia in culture and the arts;
- forums for cultural dialogue and international competitions;
- short-term residencies (1–2 months).
Eligibility Criteria
- The event must take place in Germany in 2025;
- It must be international in scale and strategically relevant to Ukrainian cultural representation;
- Applicants must provide proof of active participation (invitation letter or event program);
- Applications must be submitted in English at least three weeks before the event;
- Each person can submit only one application between July and December 2025.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit a completed English application form and confirmation of participation (e.g., invitation letter, program listing) to mobility-germany@ui.org.ua no later than December 5, 2025.
Reporting
Within 30 days after the event, participants must submit a short report in English, including a summary of outcomes, confirmation of participation, and, if available, photos or videos. In the case of group participation, the team leader is responsible for submitting one consolidated report.
