Ukraine has joined the European Union’s “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV) Programme. This initiative aims to support open, lawful, democratic, equal, and inclusive societies based on the rule of law. The agreement formalizing Ukraine’s participation was signed on January 9, 2024.
Key Focus Areas of the CERV Programme:
Equality, Rights, and Gender Equality: Promoting rights, non-discrimination, and equality, including gender equality.
Citizens’ Engagement and Participation: Encouraging citizens’ participation in the democratic life of the Union, fostering exchanges between citizens of different member states, and raising awareness of shared European history.
Daphne: Combating violence, including gender-based violence and violence against children.
Union Values: Protecting and promoting EU values.
Ukraine participates in all programme areas except for “Union Values.”
Opportunities for Ukrainian Organizations:
Civil society organizations operating at local, regional, national, and transnational levels, as well as other stakeholders, can apply for funding to implement initiatives aimed at:
- Engaging citizens in democratic processes.
- Ensuring equality for all.
- Protecting and promoting EU rights and values.
